Techmantis

As you may have noticed out forums are… well… down. We had a site crash not so long ago and it may have corrupted the forum database; we are working hard to fix this issue.

In the meantime we are trying to decide between two new names for the site. While you wait for the forums to come back, consider voting in our poll:

What should the new 1337 Mods site name be?

    gregoryrasputinhax.net sounds like a better name :p

I dislike both names, seriously, what crazy dude comes up with these weird names, but that’s just me, i would go for something less girly like:

    http://www.console-hacks.net
    http://www.jake-is-a-bum-lord.net
    http://www.community-hacks.net
    http://www.ps3-wii-vita-360.net

Im sure you get the idea, signify that its for a games console, so that people will know what they are looking at.

IGN is one of the biggest tech websites around. Sure, IGN stands for “Internet Gaming Network” but a lot of people don’t realize that. Our URL doesn’t necessarily have to signify everything we’re about, it just has to be catchy and easy to remember.

What makes a site isn’t its URL, it’s the content.

I came up with the name btw.

      And Ps3-wii-vita-360.net?

Personally I think thehac.ca would be an interesting name: The Hacca

I really do like techmantis; simply for the fact that we could probably get endorsed by manufacturers with a name like that. Anything that is cliché enough to have hacks, mods, hax and modz in the site name is a no-go for companies; financially and traffic-wise it’d go down well too. I’d quite like being able to review tech and hack-related articles and it’ll be great for youtube. We’d attract tech-nerds as well as people in the scene.

That’s just my take on it though.

Good luck saving the forums. I’d hate to see all those posts we made fall into oblivion but some things you just can’t help. So it goes.

Forum should be fine we do lose the last 2 days worth of posts though..

I saw the news in the forum (I’m Rewdboy05) and was immediately elated. We had a lot of good content on there as far as tutorials and scene releases and general foolishness that would have been a shame to lose.

I really don’t care for either of those names honestly…
what was wrong with the previous site name?

A lot of people disliked the 1337 prefix.

This is where you buy those names and sell it back to them at a markup. Gogogog.
